From Thor to Loki, Odin and Ragnar-- Vikings are Hot!

Who can resist the tortured musings of Loki?  Or the raw strength of Thor?  Not to mention the animal attraction of Ragnar?

Yes being a Viking has never been so cool or so sexy!

It seems that everyone is cashing in on Viking lore even cable television.  The History channel's the Vikings tells of a young Viking warrior and farmer, Ragnar, who believes he is destined for greatness. Frustrated by the restrictive policies of his local chieftain, Earl Haraldson, he is convinced that great riches lie to the west and resolves to sail across the ocean to find them.

Starring Australian native Travis Fimmell, I think the History is definitely borrowing from the Marvel playbook by casting this aussie who like the blond god before Chris Hemsworth, who portrays Thor, in the movies of the same name and in the Avengers, his raw sexuality is bound to please!

But if fair haired god types are not your thing and you go for the raven haired less muscular types like myself.  Then maybe Loki is the god/bifrost creature/adopted son/man for you.  His cool calculations and wicked sense of humor is always a thrill for the gal who likes a little danger in the man they seek.  Then this tortured little brother is the one for you.  Tom Hiddelston who put the grrrr in sexy, will reprise his role as the bad brother gone crazy in Thor: Dark Worlds this fall and in the second Avengers movie in 2015.

Don't have cable?  And can't wait for your next Vikings fix?  My viking paranormal romance-- Zenward's Magic will satisfy your need.  Set in the Danelaw, a part of England in which the laws of the "Danes" or Danish held sway, I know it will give you the fix you need!

Blurb:

Plagued by a demon his entire life, Marius Zenward will stop at nothing to free himself from this horrible curse. Captivated by his mystery and torn by her desire, Corrigan Heilyn longs to be with him but Marius holds her at bay because of a horrible secret that follows him from town to town.

Will the special magic that only he possesses set them free?

Rating: Sweet
Genre:  Historical, Paranormal Romance

Hex and the Single Witch
Vehicle City Vampires Book One
By Roxanne Rhoads

Anwyn Rose is descended from a long line of powerful witches yet she can barely cast spells young witchlings have mastered. She has one functioning witch gift, the power of knowing, which she puts to good use as a Detective on Flint’s Preternatural Investigation Team (aka the P.I.T. Crew)

It’s a new era in Vehicle City, supernaturals are running the town.

The P.I.T has their hands full with paranormal crimes. Top priority is a serial killer, who appears to be a vampire, draining young women in the city.

Anwyn is on the case with her sexy partner Detective Mike Malone.
Complicating things is her relationship Galen, a vampire who looks more guilty than innocent, although Anwyn trusts her instincts even if her power is on the fritz.

Mysterious spells, compromising situations, and a possible demon on the loose make it hard to focus on the case, but Anwyn has to make things right before the human police execute the wrong vampire.

Hex and the Single Witch contains magick, a little bit of mystery, a lot of supernatural mayhem, and a sexy love triangle that will leave you wanting more.

OLDER WOMEN HAVE FUN, TOO

                                OLDER WOMEN HAVE FUN, TOO.

You know authors; we older women have fun, too. Not just the thirty-something, just got over a bad relationship type of woman. Oh, you know the ones who happen to look gorgeous, most likely in peril, and who meets a hunk who comes to her aid.

Yeesh. Demographics, shemographics. Target audience, shmarget audience.

WE ARE HERE!!!   HOLD UP YOUR HANDS, WOMEN, WHO ARE PACKIN’ YOUR AARP CARD FOR DISCOUNTS.

      Ahem, back to the point. As I was saying, we like a good romp in the hay. For you young ones that means, well, guess-- can’t leave out that buyer’s audience. Try to keep up with us, kids.

We like adventure. You should see me drag race my friends down the boulevard. No, not in wheelchairs, you smart alecks. See my car?

We’re not all married you know. Some of us are widows, divorcées, or some of us just plain haven’t met the right guy yet. Yep, we’re out here. Don’t you dare call us spinsters! I’ll smack you upside the head. We do still have choices, you know. Well, a few anyway.
For instance, there is this neighbor that ogles me from across the street when he waters his lawn.

So what if his chest has dropped a little and his teeth click when he talks. He’s a very interesting man who saved my sanity when I got arrested driving for having just a few too many with my friends.

  I mean that stop sign jumped right out into the middle of the street.  I swear.
Now that’s a knight in shining armor.

Think about it. See, older woman in peril. Hunk comes to the rescue. He did bail me out. Write about that, why don’t you?

So, kiddies, don’t forget, we’re not all cardboard characters, dotty parents of the young and the beautiful, or matronly nurses working in hospitals. Give us a chance to star, to find love, to have a bit of adventure—if our hearts can handle it--even if our hero has to take that dysfunction pill. We are still human, after all.

While we’re on the subject, I think this is a good time to introduce my character, Winnie Krapski, my senior citizen and star of my continuing short story series the COD Club. (Call on the Dead)

And as readers have told me, “She is a hoot.”

I have two out from BookToGoNow. A third will be released soon and more to follow. The first two stories are in the #1 download. Isn’t that great?

And just for you, two commenter’s names will be picked out of a fedora to receive a free PDF (that you can convert to your E-reader) so, let’s get with the comments.

Oh, I guess I should tell you a bit about Winnie and show you the covers. Excuse the memory lapse.
Book one and two in this download.

Come and meet Winnie Krapski who hugged a cherry tree during a lightning storm. The bolt slammed her, splitting the tree in half. The near-death experience bestowed her with a gift–one she’d rather not have.
Drafted into the C.O.D. Club (Call on the Dead) by Fat Phil Phillips, her mission is to grant the newly deceased’s ghost one last reasonable request. Can Winnie honor her oath?

Well, she tries. But, not before she stumbles into situations that almost get her killed. She’s one spunky broad. Follow her adventures in the COD Club series.

Also available on Barnes and Nobles and Kobo.

Secrets abound. Bullets fly. Yep, it’s Winnie granting a dead person’s last request.

 Mr. and Mrs. Bickerson are in a fatal highway accident. Both Phil and Winnie work their last requests. Strange that the dead couple want their requests kept secret from one another. Why? What are they hiding?

Winnie works the request and ends up in more danger than she can handle.

Yep, Winnie is in deep poo again.

Not to worry, the next adventure will be released soon.

WHAT'S IN A FICTION BOOK?

Welcome to the Paranormalist Blog where ghosts, vampires, and all strange creatures are found.

What's in a fiction book?

Plenty! An author writes to take you into a place of thrills, chills, adventure, fun and excitement. A place to escape, to live another character’s life whether it’s in fantasy land, outer space, or today’s life.
An author reads mountains of research to give you authenticity in the details so you can learn and experience the trials and travails of the hero’s journey whether they win or lose. They endeavor to make you feel the characters pain, heartache, and yes, the joy of their triumphs.
We have vampires, cowboys, spies, romance, shape shifters, detectives, pirates and so much more. Visit the early west, the Victorian era, the wide expanse of the universe and the worlds built from our imaginations.
Who can pass up something like that? I can’t.
A whole new world is waiting just for you in a fiction book.
~~~
Today I want to tell you readers a little about my book “GYPSY BLOOD” published by BooksWeLove.
Genre: Paranormal/Romance/Thriller/Mystery. It includes quite a bit of Roma lore.
Adult Rated
The book has been out for a while now and still doing well, so I imagine readers like it. Thank you readers.
Let me tell you new readers a little about the novella.
My detective, Rita Muldova, is of pure Roma blood. Her mother, Anna, is a great seer, and Uncle
Dragus can bend spoons, but his greatest talents are playing the violin and baking. Yes, he loves to bake so much that he and Anna opened a restaurant/bakery in a quaint theme mall. He makes the best brownies in the area.
When Rita decided on a police career, Anna gave her an heirloom that had been handed down through their maternal bloodline. She gave the amulet to Rita for protection and to help with her career. Not an ordinary amulet, mind you, but a pure crystal star she wears around her neck. When Rita holds the star in her hand, she feels a warm pulse run up her arm, and she can see in a dead person’s eye the last person they had seen before they died. It also sends out pulses of warm for a safe sign and then ice cold for danger.
What a boost for her career. But now there is a serial killer staking prostitutes in her city and, to Rita’s horror, the amulet has stopped working.
Agent Matt Boulet has been trailing this killer from New Orleans to Rita’s city. The tall, dark, and dangerous looking agent leads the newly formed task force to catch this killer.
He works closely with Rita. Maybe too close with the sparks of attraction between them, and they face the dangerous waters together with all the inherent gifts of Rita’s family.
Will they win the battle ahead?
Step into my fiction book world and find out. Read Gypsy Blood.
(Here is an excerpt for you)
Before Rita had time to get her fingers on the gun, the man had shot out of the door, yanked her forward, and somehow shoved her headfirst onto the front seat. She skidded over the vinyl bench seat, her nose and cheek hitting hard, blocking her breath for a moment. Rita yelled in surprise. The door slammed shut. She scrambled to sit upright, gagging when she inhaled the dank, moldy scent of the interior. A metal object, hanging from the roof above the mirror, clunked heavy against her head. She swallowed the acrid taste in her throat.
The driver’s door opened and the man slipped inside. One corner of her mind wondered how he could have possibly run around the front of the van so fast.
Rita rubbed her bruised temple and twisted the door handle. It was stuck. She rammed her shoulder into the door. It didn’t budge. The window was up. Her purse with the gun lay on the sidewalk. She worked the lock button and slammed into the door again. The impact sent shock waves down her arm to her fingertips. Shit. The van was rigged. Rita looked at the serial killer, her heart banged against her ribs, her breathing short and shallow. Tapping the mic with frantic fingers, all she could do was pray.
 The man grinned.
Cursed has released!
Cursed
The Vitruvian Man, book 1
Paranormal romance (sensual)
Blurb
Ten days of freedom. That’s all Fate had allotted me each year. In the streets of Venice, I could walk among them. Mingle. Belong.
During Carnevale, they had no idea who I was. What I was.
For ten days, it didn’t matter.
Until I met her.
Bruno diCesare lives alone by necessity, not choice. An experiment performed by Leonardo da Vinci, who believed having a dual DNA would grant a person immortality, used magic to render Bruno a chimera – the head of a lion, body of a dragon. The only time he can mingle with people is during Carnevale, ten glorious days of masked anonymity, frivolity and intimacy.
Melina Weaver learned fire dancing to enliven her dull existence. A scientist, her long hours at the lab leave no time for a social life. For ten days at Carnevale, she can pretend to be someone else. Someone sexy and daring, who lives on the edge.
Once she meets Bruno, her wish comes true, but everything goes terribly wrong. Beneath Bruno’s costume lurks an alpha male, but is he dangerous? Worse, can she return to an employer who sells her research to the military to make an army of efficient killers? Her only hope may lie with the man she’s just met and never seen.
Available at
Decadent Publishing:
Excerpt
Light danced in his dark eyes. “I must admit, your fire dancing fascinated me. What made you choose such a dangerous skill to master?”
“The thrill of the challenge, I suppose.” It balanced the rest of her mundane life, to a degree. Mastering each new level gave her a sense of achievement, where work couldn’t.
Something flashed through his dark eyes. “Mistakes must be very painful.”
“I practiced a long time before I worked up the nerve to actually light the wands. I found the fire great incentive to focus, however.” God, her grin must be goofy, the way he stared. Such gorgeous eyes, such a deep brown they almost appeared black. He probably had rugged features, if his large hands provided any indication. Too bad he wore gloves, another barrier between them.
“Yes,” he said, “I imagine so.”
“What about you? What other magic do you know?” Oh please, can you get any more ridiculous? It sounded like a line from a bad chick flick.
The crinkle around his eyes was the only evidence of his smile, but enough to charm her.
“Lifetimes of studying the dark arts have provided me with many tricks.”
“Lifetimes?” she blurted.
He stiffened in her arms. “Pardon?”
She watched him carefully. “You said ‘lifetimes’. Plural.” And what the hell did he mean by ‘dark arts’?
Rigidity masked the grace of his movements. “I’m sure you’re mistaken.” He stared over her head as they whirled to the song’s rhythm.
Mistaken my ass. How very strange. More strange that the question upset him. He’d clammed up, and his muscles were so tense, she expected him to bolt. Better to drop it. For now. “Must have been a slip of the tongue.”
“Yes.” Relief sounded in his tone, though guarded.
This man had something to hide. How intriguing.
