Author Interview- Of Lords and Commoners by Lynne Hill-Clark #AuthorInterview

- What is your “day” job if you are not a full time author?

Lately, I’ve been a fulltime book marketer. I’m really starting to run my writing career as a proper business. And it’s a lot of work that has cut into my writing time.

- If you wrote a book about your life what would the title be?

The Life of a Traveler, Scholar, Mother and Writer. Subtitle: Not Necessarily in That Order.

- What is the hardest thing about being an author?

This is an easy question to answer —

Marketing! Getting people to actually find your books and then buy them. Standing out from all the other wonderful books out there is challenging. But every book has an audience, all you have to do is find it.

- What is the best thing about being an author?

When creative plot twists come to me. It’s exciting and energizing. That’s how I know I’m on the right track with a story. When I’m excited about a story line that’s how I know my readers will enjoy it as well.

- Have you ever been star struck by meeting one of your favorite authors? If so who was it?

Yes, Veronica Roth, she wrote the Divergent series. I had the pleasure of listening to her speak at the Tucson Book Festival a couple of years back. She was promoting her new series, Crave the Mark. I was as giddy as a kid on Christmas morning for hours after listening to her — being in the same room as her.

- What book changed your life?

So many … I will admit that it was the Twilight Series by Stephenie Meyer that inspired me to start writing fiction and start writing about vampires. In my opinion, she made vampires cool and sexy as hell. Sorry, I mean really sexy.

- What were some of your favorite books growing up?

Fantasy, superheroes and tales with special powers and abilities always intrigued me most. The Chronicles of Narnia were at the top for sure. A Wrinkle in Time series was a beloved childhood story as well.

- What books are currently in your to be read pile?

My TBR pile is out of control. I don’t make a ton of time to read lately. Life is too busy. I’m currently reading fellow author’s works and I have a long list of my friends books that I need to get to.

- Which do you prefer e-books, print, or audio books?

Audio books! I listen while I exercise and do the dishes! This way I don’t feel guilty for setting down and reading.

- If you could live inside the world of a book or series which world would it be and why?

That’s easy, Hogwarts. Need I say more?

Vallachia doesn’t know much…

But she does know that she loves her simple life.

This becomes even more apparent when that life is ripped from her.

Who will care for her widowed father and younger brother?

But she doesn’t have time to worry about that when she has to learn how to keep herself alive.

Not to mention she has to constantly thwart unwanted male attention.

She quickly finds herself on the wrong side of a brewing battle for vampire domination.

Not knowing whom to trust could have fatal consequences …

For everyone.

Live through the latter part of the Byzantine Empire and into the dark times of the Black Plague, where our heroine finds herself fighting to defend humankind.

The only future Vallachia could have imagined, as well as her wonderfully simple life, disappears when she finds herself in a struggle to figure out the rules of a strange new world - a world that involves superhuman strength, heightened senses and inescapable bloodlust. She must make new allies and learn the ways of supernatural politics during the decline of the Byzantine Empire.

As the pressure mounts, she faces the deadliest pandemic in history as the battle for vampire domination rages across Europe.

This is the first installment of the Lords and Commoners Trilogy written from the viewpoint of a common girl forced to contend with powerful vampires and lords in a struggle to control the world.

Both history fanatics and supernatural fans will love this story as it provides a fresh new look at the dark days of the Black Plague and a glimpse into the paranormal conflicts that are hidden in the shadows.
