Interview - The Assassin’s Daughter by Shana Vernon #urbanfantasy #authorinterview

- What is your “day” job if you are not a full time author?

I gave birth to triplet boys nine months ago and then Corona happened, so I have not gone back to work.

- If you wrote a book about your life what would the title be?

The Unbelievable Adventures of Shana Vernon.

- What is the hardest thing about being an author?

The part that is most difficult for me has been creating my author platform. I am a total introvert, so establishing and maintaining connections isn’t always the easiest thing for me.

- What is the best thing about being an author?

I absolutely LOVE writing and continuing to grow by listening to the advice of other readers and writers. The best part is creating an entire world in my mind and watching it unfold as I type.

- Have you ever been star struck by meeting one of your favorite authors? If so who was it?

I have not had the opportunity to meet any of my favorite authors. :( Hopefully soon. Fingers crossed!

- What book changed your life?

I had a bit of a rough childhood, so I used reading as an escape, as I know many other children have done. I ran away into the worlds of Harry Potter, Artemis Fowl, and Narnia.

- What were your some of favorite books growing up?

I loved Harry Potter, Artemis Fowl, Narnia, R.L. Stein’s Goosebumps books, R. A. Salvatore, and The Thirteen Reasons Why, which is now a popular TV show.

- What books are currently in your to be read pile?

Stephanie Garber’s Caraval Series
Holy Black’s The Cruel Prince Series
Jay Kristoff’s Nevernight Series

- Which do you prefer ebooks, print, or audio books?

Definitely print, but I don’t always have access or the funds to buy unlimited print books, so I use my Kindle Fire to read as well.

- If you could live inside the world of a book or series which world would it be and why?

I would want to live in Asgard as a Valkyrie. There is something incredibly badass about being a winged warrior woman!

The Assassin’s Daughter
The Hybrid Chronicles

Book Description:

I've been hiding from the Guild since I was born.

If they knew about my magic, they would kill me in a heartbeat.

I should be avoiding them, but instead, I enter the Guild as a regular human recruit.

Why?

Papa went missing after a mission, and I need answers.

I realize I might have bitten off more than I can chew when my new instructor is the guy I kissed a few months before.

It doesn't seem like Cade recognizes me without my disguise, but if he does and blows the whistle, I'm as good as dead and so is Papa.

About the Author:
